It is with great joy and excitement we announce that Melissa Hathaway will join the staff of Peace as our Director of Youth and Family Ministries beginning late August. Melissa is a talented educator with experience in youth and family ministry. In addition, she brings musical talent to our worship leadership team. Although she is not yet a pastor, she has plans to pursue ordination and will explore that as she concurrently serves on our Peace staff. Her focus will be on working with youth in grades 5-12+ and their families including some intergenerational events.
We are thrilled to welcome Melissa and her family to Peace. She will join us in worship on August 24 & 25 as she begins this work among us. There will also be a picnic style welcome celebration on Sunday, September 15 following morning worship and the Finance Forum. Please plan to come and meet Melissa!
Greetings, friends in Christ! My name is Melissa Hathaway, and my husband Drew, our 4 year old daughter Evelyn, and I are thrilled to be joining the family of Peace Lutheran Church! I’m originally from a small town just North of Madison. I grew up attending a small country church near Lake Wisconsin, where I had many incredible experiences in faith. I graduated from Edgewood College with a degree in education, and one day hope to attend seminary to become an ordained pastor with a focus in Youth and Family Ministry. I’ve done mission work, led worship through music, and most recently, worked as a Children and Family Ministry Director. In my spare time, I love to hike, kayak, read, travel, dance in the living room with my daughter, and meet new people. I’m excited to connect with you and eager to build on the solid foundation that Peace Lutheran Church displays. Thank you for welcoming me into the Peace family.
