As a community of faith called to care for and love our neighbors in need we are grateful for these local partnerships in the ministry of the Gospel:
Waunakee Ecumenical Board (WEB) – is a board made up of members from all the area congregations that work together to do some caring things for our community—like seasonal food baskets, help with utilities, etc.—as well as coordinate the local food pantry. To become part of a team of Peace members supporting the WEB Food Pantry on ‘once-a-month’ Fridays & Saturdays, please contact Jan Rutkowski at jan.rutkowski@nullexplorepeace.org.
Waunakee Neighborhood Connection (WNC) – is a local organization that does many things for people in need. From clothing to diapers to furniture to help navigating difficult circumstances, WNC provides a wealth of resources for our community’s neighbors.
Waunakee Community Cares Coalition (WCCC) – is a network of leaders in education, law enforcement, churches and other organizations in the Waunakee community working to help prevent substance use and provide resources to students and families who are struggling with these issues.
Food for Kids – is a group of people from the community that work together to coordinate an annual event to create meals for people throughout the world. Each fall, they raise money and schedule a weekend to bag thousands of meals for hungry people. Groups from our church as well as from the community at large, sign up for this festive opportunity to make a difference in the world.
UW Lutheran Campus Ministry – from bike helmets and maintenance to supporting the meals and hospitality for students to providing needed items for the Keep Closet, we love to make a difference in the lives of local college students.
Dane County Jail Ministry (MALC) – is an opportunity to help support funding a chaplain to reach out to those who find themselves in the Dane County Jail. From helping folks explore resources for health and well being to sharing God’s grace and love in ways that can re-shape lives, this ministry is important.
Collaborative Partnership with Wartburg Seminary (our Intern) – we are partnering with our Synod and ELCA seminaries to raise up leaders for the church. Currently we are committed to a four year program to sponsor a seminary student who is on track for ordained Word and Sacrament ministry. This requires financial support as well as cheering the process as we pioneer a new way of shaping the future of the church. This serves the local mission of our church in important ways.
