As a community of faith called to work for justice and peace in all the world, we are grateful for these global partnerships we serve through our offerings and time:
Lutheran World Relief (LWR) – our quilters make quilts that go to Lutheran World Relief. In addition, we support the ministries of LWR through our financial gifts.
ELCA Disaster Relief – when there is a crisis in our country, ELCA Disaster Relief responds with life support and recovery resources that help people in need.
ELCA World Hunger – this group responds domestically and across the globe, supporting sustainable solutions that get at the root causes of hunger and poverty.
Global Mission Support – we have been supporting St. Andrews and STARS refugee ministry in Cairo, Egypt.
Young Adults in Global Mission (YAGM) – similar to the Peace Corps, this organization which is an ELCA ministry, recruits and trains college graduates to spend a year working in challenging parts of the world to learn, to serve, to walk alongside our neighbors around the world. It is an astonishing experience that we have been honored to support. Our most recent YAGM was Hannah Smith.
Collaborative Partnership with Wartburg Seminary (our Intern) – we are partnering with our Synod and ELCA seminaries to raise up leaders for the church. Currently we are committed to a four year program to sponsor a seminary student who is on track for ordained Word and Sacrament ministry. This requires financial support as well as cheering the process as we pioneer a new way of shaping the future of the church. This serves the global mission of our church in powerful ways.
