Growing Together: Peace + Peace Preschool Community Fundraiser
The Growing Together Fundraiser supports the creation and improvement of shared community spaces at Peace Lutheran Church. This initiative will help us:
- Expand The Makery — a flexible art studio where creativity thrives for all ages.
- Update The Kitchen — the heart of our Wednesday night meals, a vital space for the preschool, and a hub for community gatherings.
- Create Outdoor Access From the Gallery — opening our indoor creative spaces directly to the welcoming, fenced-in backyard.
Mission
Our mission is to cultivate a vibrant space where people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds can learn, create, and celebrate together. We believe in the power of curiosity, collaboration, and community. Through shared experiences, we aim to inspire growth, connection, and a deep sense of belonging for everyone who walks through our doors.
Scope of the Project

Enables continued renovation and expansion of The Makery

Supports updates to The Kitchen in addition to the Makery renovation

Funds all of the above plus the installation of new exterior doors in the Gallery (Fellowship Hall), creating direct outdoor access
Project Timeline
Fall 2025 Fundraisers
October and November fundraising events are projected to raise approximately $3,000.

A year-end invitation for those who wish to make a tax-deductible gift before the close of the 2025 calendar year.
Spring Gala — March 2026
Our goal is to reach our fundraising target by the time of the Art Gala. If we are not quite there, this special event will help carry us to the finish line.
Construction: Summer 2026
We hope to begin renovation and construction during summer 2026, transforming these spaces into places where our community can continue to grow—together.
The Vision
Expand the MAKERY
The Makery is a vibrant, flexible art space designed for all ages — from our youngest preschoolers to seniors in our church and community. Expanding this space will allow us to continue nurturing creativity while opening the door to even more opportunities.
Planned Enhancements
- Added plumbing and sinks for art and clean-up needs
- Custom shelving to maximize organization and storage
- Adjustable, multi-purpose tables
- Expanded doors for accessibility and improved flow
Create BACKYARD ACCESS from the Gallery
Our fenced-in backyard is a gift — a green space that enhances events, gatherings, and fellowship. By expanding access from the Gallery, we can make it an even more integral part of church life.
Planned Addition
- New doors that open directly to the backyard
- Allows seamless “indoor/outdoor” events
- Provides an alternative entrance to the multi-use spaces
- Increases flexibility for future programming
Update the KITCHEN
Our kitchen is one of the most frequently used spaces at Peace. From Wednesday night dinners — where ALL are welcome for food, conversation, and community — and support for a wide variety of gatherings this space is the heart of our ministry: hospitality.
Planned Improvements
- Installation of new industrial ovens
- Replacement of worn flooring
- Updated sink and countertops
- New cabinetry (as budget allows)
