DESCRIPTION:“Every child is an artist!”  -Pablo Picasso \nWarm summer days and outdoor exploration combined with creative arts programming – what could be a more positive for children ages Kindergarten through 4th grade?  This summer we are offering a series of 4 classes that can provide your child with just that experience. \nChildren will arrive at noon bringing a packed lunch and eat together as a group.  From there they will participate in hands-on art projects including paint\, collage\, fabric\, nature art\, watercolor\, and more!  Following the art experiences\, children will enjoy outdoor activities. \nThis program will be taught by art specialists Suzanne Sackett\, Alexis Peterson and Paige Walzer\, taking place at Peace. \nStudents will learn a variety of new artistic techniques and vocabulary words\, adding to their overall creative development – in addition to having fun just getting “messy!”  Open to children going into Kindergarten through 4th grade. \nCost: $100

In this class\, students will break away from the pressure of a blank white page and learn to see artistic potential in everyday scraps like old books\, maps\, ticket stubs and packaging. \nAll materials are provided\, including a journal and “junk buffet” of vintage papers\, stickers\, and washi tape\, though students are encouraged to bring their own sentimental scraps (like movie stubs or candy wrappers) to make it truly their own.  Students are also invited to bring their own water bottle and snack. Open to children going into 5-8th grades. \nClass taught by Suzanne Sackett and will be held in either the Peace Makery or the Friendship Room.
