SUMMARY:PLC Quilters (meeting in the Gallery)
DESCRIPTION:Quilting may not appear as a line item in the budget\, but it relies on many of the church’s funded resources—like the building\, heating and cooling\, and storage space. Thanks to your contributions\, this important ministry continues to thrive. Below is a note from Sue Hineline\, who leads our quilting group.\n     Peace Lutheran Church has been making quilts for people in need throughout the world for more than 10 years.  Quilters include church members as well as others from the Waunakee community.  We enjoy a friendly gathering with good conversation as we work.  The youth of Peace have also joined us about once a year to tie some of the quilts.\nMany years we have sent the finished quilts to Lutheran World Relief for distribution to wherever they are needed most.  Some have gone to India\, Mauritania\, Iraq\, Ukraine and Lebanon.  The last couple of years we have given them locally to Waunakee Neighborhood Connection clients during their winter coat distribution.\nMuch of our fabric originally came from the former Ben Franklin Store when it closed.  Other material comes from donations which we welcome. We would love to have more people join us.  We currently meet the third Tuesday of every month at Peace from 9 am to noon.  Come for all of it\, or for whatever works for you. No experience required!
